Teacher Who Inspired ‘Stand and Deliver’ Film Dies

Jaime Escalante, the Bolivian-born educator who taught advanced math and calculus to students at one of LA’s most troubled high schools died on Tuesday, March 30. Mr. Escalante was a teacher that made a clear, decisive, transformational differences in the lives of learners that may have not benefited from the schooling they were likely to receive.
