Teacher Who Inspired ‘Stand and Deliver’ Film Dies

Jaime Escalante, the Bolivian-born educator who taught advanced math and calculus to students at one of LA’s most troubled high schools died on Tuesday, March 30. Mr. Escalante was a teacher that made a clear, decisive, transformational differences in the lives of learners that may have not benefited from the schooling they were likely to receive.  We can learn from this man and his way of approaching teaching.  Click here to read about Mr. Escalante’s life, and listen to a radio segment about him on NPR.
